Silviya Ivanova

Bulgarian Youth Forum

Hello, my name is Silviya Ivanova and I have been volunteering in Bulgarian Youth Forum for 3 years now. I am currently participating in European Solidarity Corps program in Alicante, Spain. My project started on October 1st, 2019 and will last for nine months. The topic of my project is to work at the Youth Center of Alicante Municipality and it is called ´Health Tips´. Some of the project activities I do are promotion of healthy lifestyle in schools, the promotion of the Erasmus plus program and providing information to young people about opportunities and projects in Europe. With my colleague Julia from Germany, we have a weekly English language workshop for young people between 16 and 30 years. One of the methods I use to disseminate my experience as an international volunteer is my blog https://viajerarosasilviya.blogspot.com/, in which I write short stories about my trips in English, presenting my experiences as fairy tales.

For those couple of months I am in Spain I learned a lot about the culture, I speak freely Spanish and I become more tolerant. I learned some soft technical skills and graphic design and video making, also I feel more confident writing, taking pictures and interviews.

I wish to thank all the Bulgarian youth forum team for the help, support and efforts.

This experience so far changed my life in the best direction possible, I highly recommend it to everyone who wishes to dive into a new culture and explore not only a new country but a new version of himself.
