Bulgarian Youth Forum
In November 2019, I had the opportunity to participate in a First Aid training course in Romania. The aim of the project was to develop the following skills in youth workers: first-aid methods, decision-making in times of crisis, soft skills and interpersonal relationships, creativity and filmmaking.
The sessions were led by a nurse practicing the relevant skills, which gave us great confidence that we were learning the right things and that there would be no unanswered questions left out. The topics covered were first aid to an unconscious person, correct actions in case of burns, response in crisis situations, including in natural disasters.
At the end of the project we were divided into 5 teams and were given the task of making a mini-movie on any of the topics. It was a really interesting and inspiring challenge because it gave us the chance to live out our secret dreams of being actors / producers / operators.Once again I had the chance to attend a project of this partner organization and again I was super pleased. With the mentors, I can say that we are already very close friends, we have our stories, shared memories and “our jokes”. What was new to me this time was the large number of countries that participated in the project – Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Turkey, Poland, Italy, Spain and Latvia. It can really be fun when so many different cultures end up in one place because it gives us a chance to appreciate our culture and traditions and learn about others at the same time.
